Ish Art
Materials:
- paper (I cut my down to 6" x 6"), but you can do a large sheet or as small as a sheet as you'd like
- tempera paint
- paintbrushes
- "Ish" by Peter H. Reynolds
Peter H. Reynolds is one of my favorite children's authors. He wrote and illustrated a beautiful book titled, "Ish."
This would be a great lesson to do in the beginning of the school year. It really starts off Art class with a positive attitude and helps you assess the level the new kiddos are at.
I simply read the book to the students and had them paint their own mini "Ish- Masterpieces." What a great way to start off a creative year!
