A Closer Look At You

Students were asked to draw four objects that represent something about their identity or something they like. They were to zoom in, use an interesting composition or layout, add texture, and apply shading. Sometimes it's the simple, tried and true lessons, that end up being the most my students learn from! (Sorry for the bowing out in the pictures, my camera does that- argh!)

Blogging to share ideas, experiences, tips, and techniques does take time, but it's rewarding to know that your input is valued and appreciated : ).

Miss Young's Art Room: For a young lady, she's got some awesome, original lessons! I love how fresh her ideas are and she provides a lot of student examples!

Last, but not least,

Use Your Coloured Pencils: Another fabulous blog with some really cool lessons that you don't see on every typical art blog. She definitely has some projects that I've bookmarked to "borrow"- definitely a must check out!

Materials:

- Colored Pencils/ Markers
- Ruler

Circles into Polar Bears

Materials:
- Black Markers
- Glue
- Scissors
- Scrap Construction Paper

Each child will need:
(1) 12" x 12" blue construction paper
(1) 8 1/2" x 8 1/2" white construction paper
(2) 4" x 4" white construction paper
(1) 11" x 3" white construction paper
(1) 5" x 5" gray construction paper

Shaving Cream Snowfriend

Have you seen or heard of this?! I love it! It's one part shaving cream and one part glue. We made these snowfriends in my Life Skills class and 4:1:1 class, but this can easily be done with Kinders and 1st graders too!
