Sunday Comic
Unfortunately... it's not a humorous one... I've seen this floating around Pinterest and Facebook:

Low fire glaze vs. High fire glaze
So what's the difference?
I usually use high fire glaze, but in the past years when I've networked with local art teachers, they've been turning me onto trying low fire glaze. So I've been trying to phase out my stock of high fire and try the low fire.. but there are some things I just wanted to make sure are correct from my understanding:
1. Low fire glaze has a more painterly quality to it?
2. Can low fire glazed pieces touch each other in the kiln?
3. Low fire glaze can be mixed like paint?
4. Low fire glaze can be used on high fire clay?
If someone could help clarify / verify these statements, I'd really appreciate it! I already told my students they'd be my little guinea pigs for this glaze I bought, but I just wanted to have somewhat of an idea of what might happen when firing. Thanks for any input in advance!

Long Term Sub (Part 2)
I thought I'd share the template I used for my long term absence in case anyone wanted a starting off point for whenever they may need a long term sub. I apologize ahead of time, I use Pages on my Mac and tried saving it as a Word Document so that you can edit it yourself, but for some reason the boxes get all mixed up, so I've attached a pdf. If you'd like a copy that you can just type on to, I'd be more than happy to send you the template with just the prompts and no boxes. Hope this helps!

Long Term Sub (Pt. 1)
Hello, friends... just looking for some feedback here. As summer is winding down and with school starting very soon, I am just making my finishing touches on my "Long Term Substitue Bible." I wasn't able to get back into my room until this past Monday, so I met again with my sub to put away supplies and "show her the ropes," so I've already explained a lot to her. However, as it is with all teachers, we really like to make sure everything is in order and tip top shape.
