Welcome to Art. Paper. Scissors. Glue! I love reading other blogs and decided to share one of my own.
My name is Hannah & I am a K-7 Art Teacher in NY. I also teach a 12:1:1, 14:1:1 and 6:1:1 class, as well as co-direct an after school Art Enrichment program. I went to Syracuse University for my undergraduate courses & graduated from SUNY Buffalo State College with my Masters Degree.
I LOVE what I do & wouldn't trade it for any other job in the world! I think the arts are fundamental in education and are unfortunately not receiving the recognition they deserve. I find it important to advocate the arts as another means of literacy & love to challenge my students to be creative and use their imagination.
I hope that this blog will be a helpful resource for art lessons to use & adapt to meet your needs. If you're like me, I like to switch up my lessons often. I think with a diverse subject area like art, project ideas are really limitless. This helps me keep myself on my toes & refresh my own curriculum.
I have a husband, Michael, and two beautiful boys, Abram & Elijah, and my first child (dog) Jerry. When I’m not Mrs. Mazzuto in the classroom, I root for the Buffalo Bills & the Buffalo Sabres. I enjoy a good book & love to draw. Orange is my favorite color & Leonardo Da Vinci is my favorite artist. I LOVE HGTV & I consider myself more of a baker than a cook.
I’m excited to share my lessons I’ve tried, their successes & difficulties and look forward to your feedback. Enjoy!
