Christmas Grocery Bags
In Art Club this week we borrowed some paper bags from our local grocery store and decorated them for the holiday season! These bags will be returned and then will be floating around town- great publicity for us! And the kids are really excited to see their work outside of school, ya hoo! It was such a fun, easy, and free way to get artwork out into the community.

Welcome, Baby Elijah
Baby Elijah! Born August 22, 6:09 pm, 8 lbs. 11 oz, 21 inches. Yes... it's been over a month, and no... that's no excuse to have been slacking in the blogging world. I tell ya, I don't know how you lovely parents do it! Raise your family and keep up with blogging- I give you credit! Meanwhile, my 2 year old and newborn have been giving me a run for my money! I'm on maternity until December, but I VOW to get back at it with this blog... it's been stagnant for too long. Until then, I'll be checking in on your blogs here and there, keeping in touch that way. But trust me, if I had more than possibly one hour of free time a day, I'd be all up on your sites!

Art Panels
We've done a little collabo to make these art panels happen. I, and our other middle school art teacher, had our students paint these awesome 3' x 6' panels that have been hung throughout our school. One of our high school art teachers will also be working on two pieces! I was too excited to wait to post the pictures of their completion, though. Check 'em out!

18 inches officially gone and feel in' great! Thank you to all who donated to my Bald for Bucks fundraiser. Hopefully soon we will find a cure for this terrible, terrible disease! And if you still would like to, the link is: Bald For Bucks, every dollar counts and it is truly appreciated from the bottom of my heart!

Bald For Bucks
That's right, folks! Yours truly is Going Bald For Bucks this year! 16" and counting. It's been something I've wanted to do for a while now, so this is the year I'm finally not standing in any wedding parties and am going bald!
Along with donating my hair to sick patients, I'm helping raise funds for the cancer research and patient care programs at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. One in two men, and one in three women will be diagnosed with cancer sometime in their lifetime. I know we all know someone who has been affected by cancer- family, staff, students.
So I'm reaching out to you, friends! I'm not one to ask for much, but this is a cause I feel strongly about. Plus, the art blogging community is so supportive, inside and outside of the classroom. Donating my hair is the least I can do, but it's really your contributions that will help with the fight against cancer. No amount is too small : ).
