Bald For Bucks

That's right, folks! Yours truly is Going Bald For Bucks this year! 16" and counting. It's been something I've wanted to do for a while now, so this is the year I'm finally not standing in any wedding parties and am going bald!

Along with donating my hair to sick patients, I'm helping raise funds for the cancer research and patient care programs at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. One in two men, and one in three women will be diagnosed with cancer sometime in their lifetime. I know we all know someone who has been affected by cancer- family, staff, students.

So I'm reaching out to you, friends! I'm not one to ask for much, but this is a cause I feel strongly about. Plus, the art blogging community is so supportive, inside and outside of the classroom. Donating my hair is the least I can do, but it's really your contributions that will help with the fight against cancer. No amount is too small : ).

Stay tuned for the after photos! I'll be going bald on April 25th.

  1. I cut my hair to donate, too. It was so hard to grow it long enough! Argh! I'm usually a short hair person! Yours is gorgeous! Do you think you will miss it?

    1. Thanks! Actually... I can't wait to chop it off!!! It's driving me nuts!! It's so long and thick, it takes FOREVER to dry! I pretty much dry it enough so it's damp and don't do anything else.. so it just looks like a hot mess now. oy... The only thing I worry about is I know I have a super weird head shape, my scalp is DRASTICALLY lighter from my tan skin, and I have just a few events coming up where some people will be really shocked to see me with a bald head... other than that- good riddens! ha
